"Oh My Leopard" Peplum White Blouse + Leopard block skirt + floppy hat

"Oh My Leopard" Peplum White Blouse + Leopard block skirt + floppy hat

Good Afternoon my fellow fashionistas!  I've had a rather blessed week.  I've been praying about something happening in my life and then I looked up and realized I was doing it.  It wasn't some big revelation or anything, it just happened.  But anyhoo I just wanted to share that because I was excited about it!

On to the outfit of the week.  I am all over these peplum blouses, jackets, belts and anything else that is peplum!  They are ultra feminine and great for those who would like a little more definition around the waist line. I love everything leopard but what drew me to this skirt was the way it was blocked between the black.  The hat...Do I really need to say anything.  Every diva should have at least one large floppy hat in their arsenal.

Leopard skirt -very similar here and another similar here

Shirt - White Peplum with lace here - Black Peplum (super dope) here

Hat - Black and White floppy hat here - similar here

Have a blessed day!

An Elizabeth Taylor CHRIST-mas! Maroon polka dots + Olive Green high waist skinnies + turban

I have this thing where I hate wearing holiday colors together (lol)  ie: Red and Green for Christmas, Black and Orange for Halloween, or Red, White and Blue for the Fourth of July but I am feeling this CHRIST-mas outfit with a twist.  Also, I am all about that turban life however, I have yet to find one I really like so I made this make-shift one with a black scarf instead.

The First Lady Look

Sorry that took so long everyone but I am in desperate need of a camera.  I went to a friends house and she did me a favor by taking these photos with her iphone so please excuse the quality.  I tried to play with the color as you can see but I didn't do that great of a job.  However, (insert exciting news here)  Another friend agreed to take my weekly pics and his camera is fantastic, so better pictures are on the way!  For now, here is my look for 8.26.12.

Bienvenidos Everyone to Sophistafunkh

Welcome to Sophistafunkh!

What is Sophistafunkh? It is a beautiful fusion of sophistication and femininity with a splash of funk.  It's the way I flow.  I am a fan of being feminine.  I love being dainty. I love all things girly.  What does it mean to be Sophistafunkh’d?  More than anything it's an attitude manifested through clothing and style.  Although some days it’s all feminine sophistication and others days its completely funky and fresh, Sophistafunkh is my statement style, my signature if you will. I absolutely love to combine the two and can't wait to share fabulous finds as well as my daily/weekly styles!

I don’t limit myself when it comes to the way I dress.  Although I do have a signature style, I wear what I like, BOTTOM LINE. If I want to be sporty for the day, I do it.  There are some who theorize that you should pick one or two styles at the most and stick with it.  They say doing this is cost effective and you relinquish the frustration of having too many styles that don’t come together and clutter up your closet with things you will never wear.        Run-on sentence I know but just flow with me :)

I don’t think this way lol!

This isn't a blog about hard and fast rules of what to do and what not to do.  This is a blog about embracing our freedom and creativity through style.

One accessory I never leave the house without is my CONFIDENCE.  Confidence is key.  If you feel comfortable and think you look good, then YOU DO!  Plain and Simple.

I hope you guys enjoy and join me on this journey of self-expression and creativity.
